What is Sliocht?
Sliocht (Irish: descendant, lineage) is a curated genealogical database drawing on the Irish Annals, bardic genealogies, and modern scholarship. Each record is built from primary sources — the Annals of the Four Masters, the Book of Leinster, the Annals of Ulster, and specialist genealogical works — and covers the period from the earliest deaths recorded in the Annals to the close of the Gaelic world in 1689.
Primary source genealogies
Pedigrees built from the Annals, not secondary sources. Each lineage cites its evidence.
47 noble houses
Gaelic lords and Hiberno-Norman gentry across all four provinces — Ulster, Munster, Connacht and Leinster.
Branches and septs
Every house records its principal branches and allied septs — the extended network of each dynasty.
